Describe your typical morning routine. I’m up by 5:30, I exercise for an hour, then enjoy some coffee and a healthy breakfast. I’m in the office by 8 a.m., where I look at the day’s headlines and have another cup of coffee.
How do you wind down at the end of a busy day or week? It has been my hobby for the past 10 years or so to make my own wine. At the end of the day, I enjoy a glass of my own handcrafted wine.
What is the best part of your job? At my core, I am a problem solver. At the EDA, I like to solve problems that may stand in the way of a business expanding, creating jobs, or moving to New Jersey.
What is a perfect day? I enjoy getting out in the field. A perfect day would be spent enjoying time with EDA staff as we work with a company—and learning about what the company does, its needs, and how we can help it to invest in New Jersey.
Most people don’t know that — For all but two years, all of my educational and professional life has been spent here in New Jersey.
If you could learn any skill, what would it be? I would love to be able to play the piano.
What is your biggest pet peeve? When people take bits of information to draw conclusions without knowing the whole story.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned in business? Partners succeed together, not as individuals.
What are characteristics of a successful professional in your field? Someone who is a good listener, someone who is witty, and also has sharp intellect.
