From a young age, DeCamillis was passionate about technology and the potential it has to help people, businesses, and society in general. Helping businesses dates back to him watching Star Trek as a kid. He also realizes that the ability to embrace technology and the pace in which it is changing today is a struggle for many.

Dolvin offers a variety of technical services from known resources and translates them into practical solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Founded in 1998 after his previous boss of 12 years let DeCamillis know on a Friday that he was moving to Florida in three weeks. He started the business that Monday.

Ultimately DeCamillis is a problem solver. Dolvin works with manufacturers, distributors, and specialty retailers that struggle with warehouse or inventory control issues or are concerned they have outgrown manual processing. Dolvin uses its skills in inventory management and operations to help businesses operate more efficiently, reduce costs, and become more profitable. It also helps medical organizations of all sizes by providing risk management services, including HIPAA education, workforce training and certification, and compliance auditing services. “Their success is my success,” DeCamillis says. “We have a mutually vested interest in the success of their business.”

Describe your morning routine.
Up at 3:15 a.m. on average. I have been on this schedule for a while now, so no alarm clock is needed. I start by taking care of household chores and then get anything together that I need for the day. Then off to the gym for a morning workout, and then work. It is so great to have this all out of the way by the time I am ready to do “real work.” I have taken care of the home, myself, and now I can concentrate on who I am serving.

How do you wind down at the end of a busy day or week?
After finishing work, networking, or meetings, I like to sit down for dinner—time-permitting and hopefully with my wife—and finish any day-end chores. I then try to stay awake long enough to do some reading or maybe watch some TV. The one advantage of starting your day so early is falling asleep takes little effort.

What is your favorite part of your job and why?
When I hear that something that I created eliminates some frustration and makes someone’s life or work just a little bit easier. The humbling part is that it is usually something that was not complex or technical; it just helped them to work more efficiently.

What is a perfect day?
When time and money are not a concern, and I can enjoy the company of those around me.

Biggest pet peeve.
People who blame their problems on anything except themselves. And people who wait in line to order food, and then don’t know what they want when it’s finally their turn to order.
